Machine-Free Tattoo
Rachel Rozario started her journey with machine tattoo in 2015 at a local tattoo studio in West Malaysia. Along the way, she discovered the art of machine-free tattooing and discovered the beauty and fluidity it brings and within a heart beat, she made the switch.
Before Booking
1. Write a clear description of the tattoo. Attach any images to convey your idea. Find images from life, not other peoples’ tattoos unless you are referencing the placement/size.
3. A general estimate of size (width/length) and where it will be going on your body.
4. She will not replicate other people’s tattoo. Make sure her style is what you are looking for.
5. €50 deposit (non-refundable) is required to secure your tattoo session appointment. Consultation is free.
6. Rates start from €100 onwards. Pricing is based on sizing, location, complexity and the time it takes to design and tattoo.
7. A normal session is around 2-3 hours. If it’s longer than 4 hours, you will have to book multiple appointments.
Beforecare
1. Drink lots of water. This will make your skin more resilient.
Avoid anything that thins the blood like pain killers, caffeine, energy drinks and alcohol.
2. Exfoliate gently and shave the area where you will be tattooed.
3. Get a good night’s sleep.
4. Eat a meal that has extra protein, vitamin C and glucose.
Getting tattooed burns a lot of calories, so make sure to fill up so you have energy to burn.
5. Bring bananas, it releases sugar slowly which provides lasting energy and Trail Mix that has a mix of nuts, dried fruit and seeds.
6. Dress comfortably and make sure the clothing you wear leaves the area easily accessible.
7. Don’t rush. Try not to make any plans immediately after your tattoo in case we are running behind.
Aftercare
1. Remove the wrap after two hours and wash ONLY with water.
2. Avoid applying any ointment for the first two days.
3. Wash and apply ointment when the tattoo is dry and tight.
4. Use Vitamin E/Grapeseed/Rose Hip Oil or any cream that doesn’t have petroleum jelly, mineral oil, alcohol, lanolin, parabens and fragrance.
5. Apply a thin layer of ointment so you don't clog the pores which will slow the healing process.
6. If your tattoo is simple then in 2-3 days you should be able to swim.
But if your tattoo is more detailed 4 days will be a long enough wait to swim.
7. Don’t pick on the scabs, flakes or scratch the tattoo. Apply ointment if its dry and itchy.
